Duties and Responsibilities:
● Maintain up-to-date lesson plans throughout the year.
● Teach Reading, Writing, Phonics, Math, Science, Social Studies and social skills to children in 1st grade.
● Deliver lessons daily incorporating Learning Targets, Essential Questions and Success Criteria.
● Conduct shared inquiry discussions with students using Junior Great Books materials.
● Maintain an assessment and grading system based on the AERO Standards and housed in Plus Portal.
● Complete and submit grades and comments on Progress Reports quarterly and on Report Cards at the end of each semester.
● Administer MAP (Measure of Academic Progress in Math, English and Science) Assessment three times over the course of the academic year.
● Analyze, apply and explain MAP assessment data to parents during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
● Take an active leadership role in school-wide Curriculum Mapping.
● Order and maintain inventory of 1st grade materials, equipment and books.
● Maintain class discipline, follow-up, feedback and documentation.
● Make parental contacts.
