More than just a collection of books, the ASD Library is a dynamic hub where students aged 2 to 17 can explore new ideas, dive into exciting stories, work on collaborative projects, and access tools that support their academic journey. From local author visits to curated collections that reflect our diverse community, we are proud to offer a welcoming space that encourages creativity, curiosity, and connection.

Our library is thoughtfully designed to encourage both focused reading and group collaboration:

  • Flexible workspaces for group projects and discussions
  • Wi-Fi enabled environment for digital research and learning

  • Access to digital books and audio resources
  • Library World online catalog for easy book searches
  • Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Resources by Age Group

For Early Learners (Ages 2–5)

  • Picture Books – Colorful and engaging stories to spark imagination
  • Phonics & Vocabulary Readers – Build foundational literacy skills
  • Interactive Storybooks – Tactile and digital features that bring stories to life
  • Level-based readers – Designed to build confidence and reading independence

For Elementary Students
(Ages 6–11)

  • Fiction & Nonfiction – Chapter books, graphic novels, and educational texts
  • Research Tools – Kid-friendly encyclopedias and reference materials to support homework and projects

For Middle & High School Students (Ages 12–17)

  • Advanced Academic Resources – Textbooks, databases, and academic journals
  • Research Journals – Peer-reviewed articles for deeper exploration

Library Programs & Activities

The ASD Library is more than a quiet place to read—it’s a community space that comes alive with exciting activities throughout the year:

  • After-School Book Clubs
    An opportunity for students to connect, share ideas, and celebrate their favorite books in a relaxed, social setting.
  • Summer Reading Program
    Fun reading challenges, rewards, and interactive activities help maintain literacy skills during the summer break.
  • Literacy Week – Book-O-Ween
    A school-wide celebration of literacy through themed dress-up days, creative writing activities, and:
    • Author Visits – Meet local authors and discover the writing process
    • Writing Competitions – Showcase original work and creative talent

Library Policies & Access

Borrowing Procedures

Students can borrow books by presenting their shelf marker with a unique patron barcode at the circulation desk. Our library team is always available to assist.

Borrowing Limits

  • Students may borrow up to 2 books
  • With parent approval, students may borrow up to 5 books

Loan Periods

  • Books are loaned for a two-week period

  • Renewals are available as needed

  • Students who return books on time 10 times in a row receive a special loyalty token as a reward for responsibility and consistency

Visit Us

The ASD Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
