Leadership

At the American School of Douala, we are committed to inspiring and empowering each student to reach their full potential, pursue their passions, and become confident, compassionate, and globally-minded learners prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Since our founding in 1978, ASD has earned a reputation for excellence, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a learning environment that is second to none in Douala. Our educational approach is deeply rooted in a set of core values—Curiosity, Critical Thinking, Confidence, Creativity, Global Citizenship, Self-Awareness, Resilience, and Risk Taking. These principles are woven into every aspect of our program and serve as a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.
As an independent, not-for-profit international school, we deliver a rigorous U.S. curriculum to students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our not-for-profit model ensures that every decision we make prioritizes student learning, well-being, and academic growth, rather than shareholder interests. This commitment allows us to focus on what truly matters: nurturing the unique talents and aspirations of every child.
With more than four decades of educational leadership in Cameroon, ASD continues to evolve—embracing innovation, celebrating diversity, and preparing students to lead with integrity and purpose in a global society.
